The Ethics Poll is a snapshot of the opinions of interested readers.

In some cultural traditions physicians discuss diagnoses and treatment with family members rather than with the patient. A U.S. physician offers a patient from such a culture the choice of receiving information directly, without having first asked family members' permission to do so. Was the physician's action ethical?

Is it ethical for bioethicists to be paid by drug companies for their consulting services.
