Health Information Technology and Clinical Practice

Ethics Poll

One of the criteria for "meaningful use" of electronic medical records (EMRs)requires that patients have clinical summaries and instructions and an electronic copy of, or electronic access to, their health records. What consequences do you think this will have for patients and physicians who use EMR? Check all that apply.
The use of EMR and the need for physicians to refer to and enter computer information during visits will dehumanize the patient-physician encounter.
