About the AMA Journal of Ethics
Medical Student and Resident Physician Theme Issue Editors
The AMA Journal of Ethics is an open-access, MEDLINE-indexed online journal of expert-solicited and peer-reviewed content that receives over one million visits annually (and growing). Our editorial mission is to help medical students and physicians make sound ethical decisions in service to patients and society. We invite medical students, resident physicians, and fellows to apply to serve as theme issue editors by responding to our Call for Theme Issue Editors. Once selected, theme issue editors, meet in Chicago in January or February with the AMA Journal of Ethics editorial staff. Each theme issue editor receives a $2,000 stipend for executing the following responsibilities: (1) selecting an interesting, important, and complex ethical theme for one issue, (2) generating case narratives that provide opportunities for examining that theme in clinical, social, cultural, historical, and educational contexts, and (3) identifying, securing, and corresponding with contributors to the theme issue.
