On this episode of Ethics Talk, Dr Lisa Simon discusses her path from dentistry to medicine, and health journalist Mary Otto guides us through a history of oral health care in the United States.
Lisa Simon, MD, DMD is a resident physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a faculty affiliate at the Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care, and a fellow in oral health and medicine integration at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Her work centers on achieving health equity through medicine and oral health integration.
Mary Otto is a health journalist, a member of the Association of Health Care Journalists, and author of the book, Teeth: The Story of Beauty, Inequality, and the Struggle for Oral Health in America (New Press, 2017).
