Aysha Akhtar, MD, MPH is the co-founder and chief executive officer of the Center for Contemporary Sciences and a fellow of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics. Previously, she served as a medical officer at the US Food and Drug Administration, the deputy director of the Army’s Traumatic Brain Injury Program, and a commander in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
